Sanford, Florida- June 15, 2007    Gallery on First, a unique collection of 9 working artist studios open to the public, will exhibit a brand new body of work with a tropical theme, “Some Like It Hot!”  The public is invited to view the show at Gallery on First, 211 East First Street, Historic Downtown Sanford, from July 12 through July 29, 2007.  The opening reception, a Tropical Luau, will be held Thursday, July 12, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm in the Rozzie Marks Gallery at Gallery on First in conjunction with Sanford’s “Alive After Five” festivities. The public is welcome and

island attire is encouraged.

 

“Some Like It Hot!”  represents the work of resident artists,

 Laraine Astarita, Jodie Bobo, Cherie Dacko, Pamela Glose, Judith Jones, Stewart Jones, Robin Maria Pedrero, Lucinda Gonzales, Richard Sibley, Jay Spalding and Cindy Sturla. Mediums represented include acrylics, oils, pastels, pottery, watercolor, mixed media, silk painting and silk sculptures.  

Since the Rozzie Marks Gallery is adjacent to the working studios, visitors can browse finished artwork, as well as view pieces currently in progress in each artist’s creative environment.

Commissioned work is offered and tours are welcome.
