I happen to love going to The Alley, especially
when The Shaun Rounds Blues Band is playing there.
Sanford should feel very fortunate to have Shaun
playing in town at the Alley at least once a month. He's a world class blues guitar man that
takes a back seat to nobody when it comes to his
guitar licks. He really needs to be on the "world
stage".

The owners of the Alley are great ladies that do
a wonderful job at customer service and entertainment.

The jukebox has a nice assortment of tunes and the live music is great. The place has character and it's usually full of characters. The owners have put together what they like and I think they have great taste in what a downtown blues bar should be. If it was on Beale Street in Memphis, it would be a hit there, too.

Music leans more towards a Rock genre and is rather loud for a venue of that size and that is supposed to cater to live blues only. Sound mix could be a lot better, staff and clientele are rather rude, too smokey, bandstand is located in a strange place and according to local musicians they're still paying bands 1980's wages. Other than that, owners seem to be happy and they're making money, so they must be doing something right!

Gotta say I've been to lot's of blues clubs and Donna and Sandy have FINALLY gotten it right!
Not too fancy schmancy, GREAT service and the MUSIC DOESN't GET ANY BETTER!... Whether you're a yuppie, dink, biker... this place is where you want to be on a Sunday afternoon fer sure. The free BBQ Chix with all the trimmings on the first Sunday of the month is not to be missed either!!!

Good atmosphere with the deco furnishings and long bar.
Patrons usually seem to be enjoying themselves.
For me, it is a little too smokey and a little too loud.
Great selection of beer, and a very freindly staff.
