The “Alive After Five” Program

The Historic Sanford Welcome Center, Inc.

located at 230 E. First Street in Downtown Sanford proudly produces Sanford’s monthly “Alive After Five”. The “Alive After Five” program is hosted by the Historic Sanford Welcome Center, Inc., it’s volunteers, Board of Directors and sponsors. The event is held on the second Thursday of each month in the heart of beautiful Downtown Historic Sanford. The “Alive After Five” is designed to introduce and re-introduce residents, tourists and local visitors to what Sanford has to offer. The mission of the Welcome Center and its' events is to make Sanford known as a destination for living, shopping, dining, recreation, history and art and culture showcasing the “Best of Sanford.”

The Welcome Center has been hosting the “Alive After Five” for two and a half years with each event drawing between 3,000 and 4,000 people. Without the many volunteers, sponsors and key partnerships with the Community Redevelopment Agency and the City of Sanford the event would not be possible. The attendance and excitement surrounding the event continues to grow month after month and is now the model in which other cities are programming their event. 

The Alive After Five Celebration Features:

12 differently themed events per year geared towards attracting different demographic groups of attendees. An Advertising campaign in major newspapers/radioWeb site A staffed Welcome Center and Sanford Gift Shop with art exhibit Live themed music/entertainment Wine, beverages and food sampling (by participation shops and businesses) A large volunteer forceMonthly featured businesses Over 50 Central Florida Artists displaying or demonstration Business displays And Always the element of surprise!
